Former Hofstra big man Abayomi “Baybe” Iyiola, a sixth-year graduate transfer, has signed on with Kansas State Men’s basketball program, yesterday he Tweeted.

Ex-Pride basketball player Abayomi “Baybe” Iyiola joins K-State Hoops.

First-year Kansas State Head Coach Jerome Tang said Iyiola is the big presence the Wildcats need, and he knows how to win.

“Baybe gives us needed experience and depth in the low post,” Tang said on Twitter. “But mostly, he continues our emphasis on guys who are winners. He knows what it takes to be successful.”

Iyiola, a 6-foot-10 forward with a 7-foot-1.25 wingspan, averaged 7.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game with the Pride last season.

He attended Arkansas and Stetson before playing hoops on Long Island for two campaigns.

Iyiola played in 63 games and made 39 starts, amassing 656 points, 434 rebounds, 19 assists, 58 blocked shots and 46 steals with Stetson from 2017-19.

The Wildcats posted a 14-17 record and went 6-12 in the Big 12 Conference last campaign.
