Arkansas transfer Abayomi Iyiola is headed to Hofstra Men’s Basketball program, yesterday he Tweeted.
The 6-foot-9, 230-pound power forward out of Ibadan, Nigeria, who attended Greenforest McCalep Christian Academic Center (Ga), only saw action in one game (two minutes) last season as he was recovering from right knee surgery he underwent in the summer of 2020.
Before Arkansas, Iyiola led the Stetson Hatters (Fl.) in scoring (10.8), rebounding (7.6), and blocked shots (37) in the 2018-19 campaign. He ranked among Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) leaders in rebounds per game (4th) and blocks (5th) while ranking second in offensive rebounds (2.74 avg.). He also averaged 10.6 points and 8.3 rebounds in ASUN play.
Hofstra posted a 13-10 record and went 8-6 in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play this past season.
