Blair Academy Big Man Lual Manyang Commits to Hofstra Hoops

2022 Blair Academy (NJ) Lual Manyang today has verbally committed to Hofstra men’s basketball, per multiple sources.

Additionally, Manyang, who is from Wic, South Sudan, Africa, held offers from VCU, Siena, Saint Louis, Bryant, Charlotte. UMass, Mason, NJIT, Manhattan, UCSB, LaSalle and Seton Hall, per VerbalCommits.com.

Buccaneers Head Coach Joe Mantegna had this to say about his center on Twitter:

“A role player as a sophomore, a pandemic and an ACL injury as a junior. Played 12 games as a senior. There were days I was not sure how he persevered, but nothing was going to stop Lual in his relentless pursuit of his potential. The Obstacle is the Way!”

The 7-foot, 215-pounder has been playing basketball for just four to five years. So, Manyang is considered to have a high ceiling.

Manyang scored 112 points in 12 contests, good for 9.33 points per game in the 2021-22 campaign.

ESPN.com had ranked Manyang at No. 50 nationally at his position and ninth in the state of New Jersey, while 247Sports composite rated him as No. 48 nationally as a center.

The Pride posted 21-11 record and went 13-5 in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Conference action this past season.
