Staten Island FerryHawks Ink Ex-LSU Tiger Pitcher, Marlin Farmhand Parker Bugg


The Staten Island FerryHawks have signed right-handed pitcher Parker Bugg, a former Lousianna State University (LSU) Tiger, for the upcoming 2023 Atlantic League season, today the team announced via Twitter.

Parker Bugg to join Staten Island FerryHawks.

On February 3, 2023, Bugg signed a minor league contract with the Minnesota Twins organization. But the Twins released him on March 24.

Bugg, 28, split the 2022 campaign between Double-AA Pensacola and Triple-A Jacksonville of the Miami Marlins organization, posting a 3-1 record with 3.33 ERA in 48.2 innings of work in 30 games.

The 6-foot-6, 210 pounder Louisville, Ky., native has recorded an 18-12 career mark with a 4.18 ERA in 306 frames in 357 contests in six minor league seasons.

The Marlins drafted Bugg in the 27th round of the 2016 MLB June Amateur Draft after registering a 4-6 record with a 2.74 ERA in three years at LSU.

The Tigers have posted a 29-7 record and have gone 9-5 in Southeast Conference action so far in 2023.
