FLUSHING, N.Y., November 9, 2022 – The New York Mets announced yesterday that the club has claimed left-handed pitcher Tayler Saucedo [saw-SAY-doe] off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays.
Saucedo, 29, can provide the Mets with viable bullpen option, that is if he makes the team out of spring training.
He held left-handed hitters to a .182 (8-44) average in 33 appearances for the Blue Jays over the last two seasons. This past campaign with Triple-A Buffalo, he recorded a 2.37 ERA and a 13.3 K/9 ratio in 20 games, striking out 28 in 19.0 innings. In 169 outings (72 starts) across seven minor league seasons, he is 38-28 with a 4.19 ERA (253 ER/543.0 IP).
