Staten Island FerryHawks Ink Ex-Met Dilson Herrera


The Staten Island FerryHawks of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB) have signed former New York Met second baseman Dilson Herrera for the upcoming 2022 season, today the team announced on Twitter.

Former MLBer Dilson Herrera joins Staten Island FerryHawks.

Herrera, who also played for the Cincinatti Reds and Baltimore Orioles, hit six home runs and 17 RBI is parts of two seasons with the Mets.

The 5-foot-10, 210-pound Herrera, 28, last played with the Buffalo Bisons, the Toronto Blue Jays’ Triple-A affiliate of the International League, in 2021. He clubbed 10 long balls, drove in 27 runs and scored 24 times in 174 at-bats in 53 games that campaign.

The Cartagena, Colombia, native totaled 11 homers and 28 RBI in 241 at-bats in 105 contests across parts of four MLB campaigns.
