St. Benedict’s Prep (NJ) 2023 guard Ty-Laur Johnson has received an offer from St. John’s Men’s Basketball program, Verbal Commits Tweeted yesterday.
The Red Storm Hoops‘ offer is the first for Johnson, a Newark, NJ, native who dropped in 103 points, grabbed ten rebounds, dished out six assists, and made seven steals in 14 contests in his freshman season at St. Benedict’s Prep.
Johnson also plays AAU basketball for New Heights NYC.
St. John’s put up a 17-15 overall record and went 5-13 in Big East Conference action, something the Johnnies will need to improve upon if it expects to go further this season.
