UIC Offers NJ’s St. Benedict’s Prep’s Sam Alajiki

Sam Alajiki, a senior small forward/guard at St Benedict’s Prep (NJ), has received an offer from the Division I University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) Men’s Basketball program, today he Tweeted.

In addition to UIC, the 6-foot-seven, 210-pound Nigerian-born player now has offers from Howard, Columbia, California, New Mexico, Stetson, Montana State, North Carolina A&T, and Oral Roberts, per Verbal Commits.

Alajiki played at Beckley Prep IJN in Mount Hope, West Virginia, last season, and spent some time on the hardwood in Ireland.

Alajiki seems to do it all on the court: he is a strong rebounder, shoots the long-range jumper well, goes to the hoop with ease, and plays solid defense.

I am not sure of the level of competition Alajiki faced in his highlight video below, but it looks as if he outclassed his foes big time.

The UIC Flames posted an 18-17 record and went 10-8 in Horizon League action in the 2019-20 campaign.
