St. John’s University Men’s Basketball has offered Jai Smith, a small forward at Bull City Prep Academy (NC), the 6-foot-9, 235-pounder Tweeted yesterday.
Smith, originally from Raleigh, NC, also holds offers from Marquette, Wake Forest, Arizona, Georgia Tech, Seton Hall, Oklahoma State, West Virginia, Texas A&M, Alabama, Memphis, Ole Miss, Xavier, Houston, VCU, East Carolina, Eastern Kentucky, Hofstra, UMass, Oregon State, San Diego State, Saint Louis, and Rutgers, per Verbal Commits.
That’s 23 Division I college offers in all so far for Smith, who ESPN rates as a four-star recruit and Rivals with three stars, according to 247Sports.com.
Sources say that Smith has reclassified into the 2022 class, but could wind up in back among 2021 graduates. I am guessing that could have some bearing on his recruitment, of course, but we will see.
