Stepinac’s Johnuel Fland Earns Offer from D 1 LIU Men’s Hoops

Archbishop Stepinac Boy’s Basketball’s Johnuel “Boogie” Fland has garnered an offer from Division I Long Island University (LIU) Brooklyn, his high school Tweeted today.

LIU is the fourth Men’s college hoops program to date to offer the Harlem, NY, native, according to Andrew Slater and Verbal Commits. The other colleges include Rider, Bryant, and Siena.

Fland, a six-foot-two, 165-pound freshman point guard, also plays hoops for the AAU PSA Cardinals.

Moreover, there should be plenty of more offers and interest to come for Fland, who is an excellent two-way player that several high school basketball insiders consider to own a high ceiling due to his overall athletic ability and youth.

But it will be fun to watch Fland develop–physically, athletically, and mentally–on the high school level in the future.

LIU posted a 15-18 overall record and went 9-9 in the Northeast Conference last season.
