Leibrandt proved near unhittable in his three starts for the Blasters, finishing 1-0 with a league-leading 0.75 ERA and 15 strikeouts over 12 innings pitched. The southpaw tossed five shutout frames and permitted just two hits, one walk, and struck out seven in his last start.
Last weekend, the clubs split the first two games, with the Blasters beating Somerset, 7-2, Friday night, and in the second tilt, on Saturday, the Patriots edged New Jersey, 2-1, in ten innings.
The brand new, 12-game series is scheduled to begin on Friday, July 17th and will feature two teams: the Somerset Patriots and the New Jersey Blasters. The two clubs will play against each other every Friday and Saturday night at TD Bank Ballpark from July 17th through Saturday, August 22nd.
