The 6-foot-2, 200-pound sophomore, who resides in Mendham, N.J., has posted a 4-0 record with a 3.98 ERA with 56 strikeouts to 22 walks in 43 innings of work through May 28th.
Volpe is off to a solid start this season with the Low-A Tampa Tarpons, batting .278 with five dingers, 26 RBI, and a slash line of .400/.539/.939 in 115 at-bats in 27 contests.
The Watchung, New Jersey, native has impressed against tough competition, lacing a .459 batting average with 17 runs scored, 14 RBI and six base thefts in nine games, as the five-foot-eleven, 180-pounder guided the USA Baseball 18U National Team to a gold medal at the Pan-American Championship in 2018.
