St. John’s Basketball Lands Iona Transfer Sadiku Ibine Ayo


Former Iona College forward Sadiku Ibine Ayo, a native of Asabi-Kumasi, Ghana, is transferring to St. John’s University Red Storm Mens’ basketball program, yesterday he Tweeted.

Ibine Ayo, who attended Our Saviour Lutheran School in the Bronx, averaged 2.6 points and 1.5 rebounds per game in 10.3 minutes in 25 contests last season.

St. John’s, now under new head coach Rick Pitino, posted an 18-15 overall record and went 7-13 in Big East Conference action in the 2022-23 campaign.
