Class of 2024 Meaghan Doherty of Kenndey Catholic Preparatory (Somers, N.Y.) and Hoopers NY earned a scholarship offer to Division II JUCO Morton College (Cicero, Illinois) Womens’ basketball program, today Dan Melious, Hoopers NY 17U head coach, Tweeted.
Additionally, the 5-foot-7 junior guard holds a D1 JUCO offer from the Monroe College Mustangs, and interest from D1 colleges such as Adelphi, and DIII Anderson University, according to her Twitter account.
Doherty, who owns a good shot selection and a high motor, helped pace Kenndey Catholic to the GCHSAA Teir 2 North Division title this year.
The Panthers are 28-0 overall and 14-0 in Region IV action this season. Morton will host Carl Sandburg College in the Region IV quarterfinals at 5:30 p.m.
