Not too many people know that Dasani bottled water — first manufactured and distributed by the Coca-Cola Company in 1999, in response to Aquafina’s popularity, which rival PepsiCo produces — is indeed tap water.
But the tap water is sourced from local municipal water supplies and filtered using a combination of reverse osmosis (a water purification process), ultraviolet light exposure and ozonation. Then, the water is enhanced with a mix of minerals for a fresh and palatable taste.
The Mayo Clinic recommends consuming approximately 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day for men, and about 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of liquids a day for women. But you may need to adjust your water intake depending on your activity level, heat and your overall health status.
So, make sure to add plenty of water and other fluid sources to your daily nutritional intake, especially if your urine is not colorless or light yellow.
