With spring training under way, the Brooklyn Cyclones, the High-A affiliate of the New York Mets, yesterday announced their bobblehead line up for the upcoming 2023 season.
To me, bobbleheads and baseball always equal an amazing time at the ballpark.
First up, on Friday, June 23rd, at 7:00 p.m., the first 1,500 fans through the gates at Coney Island’s Maimonides Park will receive a Jeff McNeil Batting King Bobblehead.
McNeil led the National League with a .326 batting average last season.
Next, Saturday, June 24th, at 6:00 p.m., the Cyclones will feature The Joker Bobblehead on DC Comics night, to first 1,500 fans in attendance.
On Saturday, July 1st, at 6:00 p. m., Brooklyn will bestow Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo with his own bobblehead and dole them out to the first 1,500 fans through the turnstiles.
Nimmo clubbed 16 homeruns and 64 RBI with a .274 batting average last year.
The next bobblehead giveaway will take place on Saturday, July 23rd, at 6:00 p.m., and will feature a Christmas in July ELF Bobblehead, to the first 1,500 fans at the game.
The only Thursday bobblehead promotion will occur on August 10th, at 6: p.m., with the Cyclones handing out a Franciso Alvarez “El Troll” Bobblehead to the first 1,500 fans in attendance.
Alvarez is the No. 3 rated MLB prospect and made his Big-League debut on September 30 of 2022.
On Saturday, August 19th, at 6:00 p.m., Brooklyn will dish out a yet-to-be determined Seinfeld Night Bobblehead, along with other festivities, to the first 1,500 lucky spectators in attendance.
The final bobblehead giveaway will be the Pete Alonso Walk-off Bobblehead, on Saturday, September 9th at 6:00 p.m.
Note: I have always found it beneficial to arrive an hour and half before game time start, to increase the likelihood of snagging one of the popular bobbleheads. Additionally, the Cyclones might add a few more during the season, so be on the lookout for additional Bobbleheads and other promotions on BrooklynCyclones.com.
