New Jersey Native, JUCO Guard Skylar Wicks Commits to Central Michigan Hoops


Class of 2023 State College of Florida Sarasota-Manatee (JUCO) guard and Jersey City, New Jersey, native Skylar Wicks has verbally committed to Division I Central Michigan Mens’ basketball program, yesterday he Tweeted.

The 6-foot-6 Wicks, who attended SURGE Christian Academy in Clearwater, Florida, was previously enrolled at Missouri State, and held offers from TCU, DePaul, FAU and Siena before enrolling in college, per VerbalCommits.com.

Wicks, a sophomore, is averaging 18.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game through 20 contests with the Manatees thus far this season.

Additionally, he earned the Florida College System Activities Association/NJCAA Region VIII’s Mens’ Basketball Player of the Week for the week of November 28th-December 4th.

Central Michigan is 7-12 overall and 2-4 in Mid-American Conference (MAC) action so far in the 2022-23 campaign. The Chippewas will host Bowling Green today at 7:00 p.m.
