Former New York Yankee infielder Homer Bush will be coming back to Gotham to manage the Atlantic League’s Staten Island FerryHawks’ for the 2023 season, today The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal Tweeted.
Bush, 50, who also played for the Toronto Blue Jays and Florida Marlins major league clubs, managed the Mahoning Valley Scrappers in the MLB Draft League during the 2022 season.
Drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 7th round of the 1991 MLB Draft, Bush is replacing ex-New York Met Edgardo Alfonzo after one season in Staten Island.
Bush, 50, batted .285 with 11 homeruns and 115 RBI in 162 games in seven seasons in MLB. He captured a World Series ring with the talented-loaded 1998 Yankees.
