Hunter College High School (Manhattan) and Pro Level Titans’ 6-foot-7 senior wing Merlin Gogolin has 100 percent recently committed to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Mens’ basketball program, today coach Gogolin Tweeted.
Top Division III colleges were recruiting Gogoloin, per reports, and he even held a D2 offer from Dominican College. But he chose MIT, one of the best, if not the top, engineering schools in the nation. Gogoloin scored an impressive 1570 on his SAT.
Gogoloin has averaged 28.8 points and 9.4 rebounds per game through five contests in the PSAL’s Manhattan A II division season.
The Engineers are 2-7 and will travel to Clark University for a New England Womens’ & Mens’ Athletic Conference (NewMac) tilt Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
