Class of 2023 New Heights NYC and Camden Catholic High School’s Aaryn Battle has verbally committed Division I University of Massachusetts Women’s basketball program, yesterday her South Jersey high school Tweeted.
The 5-10 guard, who Camden Catholic calls “an incredibly disciplined and self-motivated player who’s consistently hungry to get better and help the team win,” in a Tweet, drained 348 points (14.0 ppg), dished out 124 assists (5.2 apg) and had a team-high 74 steals (3.2 spg) last season.
The Irish finished the 2021-22 campaign with a 22-6 mark and went 8-2 Olympic Conference play. Camden Catholic made it all the way to the NJSIAA Tournament South Jersey Non-Public A semifinal round game, in which it lost, 79-33, to St. John Vianney.
UMass tips off the 2022-23 season on Sunday, October 30 with an exhibition game against Assumption. The Minutewomen posted a 26-7 overall record and went 11-4 Atlantic 10 Conference action last year.
