Staten Island HS Hoops Star Nicole Melious Recommits to LaSalle

After recently decommitting from Georgia Tech, Susan Wager High School and Hoopers NY phenom Nicole Melious today has committed to Division I LaSalle Women’s Basketball program, she announced via Twitter.

Nicole Melious commits to LaSalle Explores Women’s hoops.

The Staten Island native said that she made the decision for family reasons, and wants to be closer to her home and family, as LaSalle is located in Philadelphia, Pa.

Melious drained a game-best 27 points and grabbed a contest-high-tying 10 rebounds in the PSAL girl’s Class “AA” finals defeat to South Shore in March.

An ALL-New York City first team honoree, the 5-foot-9 guard’s final stat line for the PSAL season was nothing short of amazing: 39.1 points, 10.4 boards and 7.5 assists per game.

Melious finished with a remarkable league-leading 1045 points this past campaign and surpassed the 2000-point career high school mark with 2003 points and earned Staten Island’s Jaques Award, as the top female high school player in the borough.

The Explores tip off the season on Monday, November 7th versus Howard. LaSalle posted a 16-12 record and went 9-6 in Atlantic 10 Conference action in the 2021022 campaign.
