Outstanding Chatham High School guard Riley Allen today announced that she has verbally committed to Division III Emory Women University (Ga.) basketball program, per her Instagram account.
Allen had considered attending an Ivy League school, per sources. But Emory, ranked No. 21 in the nation, according to World News and Report, is a high academic institution in its own right.
The 6-foot Riley, who also played for United NJ AAU, paced the Cougars with 378 points on a well-balanced team that claimed a sectional crown last season. She also grabbed 168 rebounds and made 26 steals while playing a tenacious, stellar defense.
Emory tips off the 2022-23 campaign at home versus LaGrange on Tuesday, November 8th.
The Eagles posted a 15-9 overall mark and went 8-6 in University Athletic Assocation (UAA) action last year.
