Kelsie Whitmore picked up her first professional career knock for the Staten Island FerryHawks of the independent Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB) in their 7-4 defeat to the Long Island Ducks on Saturday night.
Whitmore starred on Cal State Fullerton’s softball team, batting .395 with 12 longballs in 52 games last season, capturing the 2021 Big West Player of the Year award.
Additionally, the dual threat outfielder/pitcher has been a member of Team USA baseball since 2014, when she won a silver medal in the Women’s Baseball World Cup that year.
Plus, she helped TEAM USA capture gold at the 2015 Pan-American Games in Toronto and again in 2019 at the COPABE Women’s Pan-American Championships in Aguascalientes, Mexico.
