For people in the Gastonia, North Caolina area and around, basketball legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson will be at CaroMont Health Park with the Gastonia Honey Hunters of the Atlantic League this Friday, September 9th, yesterday the team announced. Gates will open early for a meet and greet with Magic from 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. at the Gas House Bar & Grill.
Regarding as one of the best point guards in NBA history by many basketball experts, Johnson averaged 19.5 points, 7.2 rebounds and 11.2 assists per game in career that spanned 13 years with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Johnson also won five championships, and an Olympic medal at the 1992 Barcelona Games at part of the historic Dream Team.
Additionally, the Michigan State alum captured three NBA MVP Awards, three NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Awards, and made nine NBA Finals appearances, 12 All-Star games, and was an All-NBA First Team selection nine times.
