The Mets announced today that right-handed pitcher Trevor May has been placed on the Injured List. Righty pitcher Bryce Montes de Oca has been selected from Triple-A Syracuse.
May has posted a 2-0 record with a 6.11 ERA but was staring to look like his former self of late.
Montes de Oca is a hard-throwing righty who has posted a 2-3 record with 3.61 ERA between Double-A Binghamton and Syracuse this season. He also sported a 1.42 WHIP, 6.65 BB/9 and 13.69 SO/9 in 47.1 innings of work.
The Mets selected Montes de Oca in the ninth round, 260th overall, in the 2018 MLB Amateur Draft out of Missouri.
