Monmouth Hoops Lands Commit from Jaret Valencia


2022 Legacy School (Texas) forward and Colombia native Jaret Teherán Valencia yesterday has verbally committed to Division I Monmouth Hawks Men’s basketball program, per multiple Tweets.

Jaret Valencia chooses Monmouth hoops over 17 other D1 programs.

Additionally, the 6-foot-8, 185-pound Valencia held offers from Pacific, Mississippi State, Loyal Marymount, Washington State, Tennessee State, North Texas, Oral Roberts, San Diego State, Rutgers, Houston, Creighton, South Carolina, Marquette, South Florida, Wichita State, Xavier and Kansas State, according to VerbalCommits.com.

Monmouth tips off the 2022-23 season on Monday, December 12th against host Syracuse, which will its first year in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). The Hawks posted a 21-13 overall mark and went 11-9 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) last season.
