Former major leaguer and Staten Island native Jason Marquis is coming home again, as he has joined the Staten Island FerryHawks’ coaching staff, yesterday the team announced via Twitter.
Marquis, 44, posted a 124-118 record in 15 seasons with the Atlanta Braves, St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, Colorado Rockies, Washington Nationals, Arizona Diamondbacks, San Diego Padres, Minnesota Twins, and Cincinnati Reds.
The left-hander also played for Team Israel at the 2017 World Baseball Classic.
The Braves selected Marquis in the 1st round (35th overall) of the 1996 MLB June Amateur Draft out of Tottenville High School, in Staten Island, N.Y.
