Pitcher Sophia Bordi Propels Haddon Heights to NJ TOC Softball Title

Haddon Heights High School freshman Sophia Bordi used a 13-strikeout, three-hit performance to power the Garnets to a 2-0 victory over Watchung Hills in the New Jersey Tournament of Champions on Friday night at Seton Hall softball field in Ivy Hill Park, in South Orange.

Haddon Heights defeated Lower Cape May, Manchester Township, Delran, Cedar Creek, Bordentown, Hanover Park, Morris Catholic, powerhouse Donovan Catholic and Watchung Hills en route to the last TOC in New Jersey High School softball history.

Additionally, Bordi racked up a total of 307 whiffs on the year, as well as clubbing nine homeruns and 27 RBI, both team-highs. Talk about a historic freshman season.
