The Staten Island FerryHawks of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB) have signed former St. John’s University’s right-handed pitcher Joe Kuzia, today the team announced via Twitter.
A first team ABCA All-Northeast Region selection, Kuzia was also a first team All-BIG EAST honoree, who posted a 0.97 ERA with an 0-2 record with 13 saves and 29 strikeouts in 37.0 innings of work in 2014.
He made 28 relief appearances and did not permit an earned run until his 25th appearance, a stretch of 34.0 innings that same year.
Kuzia eventually signed with the Texas Rangers organization in 2107 and posted a 17-18 mark in seven seasons between the professional and college ranks. He pitched in two games at the Triple-A level with Nashville, putting up 3.86 ERA in 2 1/3 frames.
