The Gastonia Honey Hunters of the Atlantic League have signed former New York Mets right-handed minor league pitcher Ezequiel Zabaleta, today the club Tweeted.
Zabaleta spent 2015 to 2019 in the Mets minor league system before winding up in the Tampa Bay Rays organization for the 2021 campaign, recording a 15-15 record with 18 saves and a 4.01 ERA for his career.
The Colombia native also pitched in the Caribbean World Serie for his country in 2020-21 and for Margrita in the Venezuelan Winter League 2021-22.
Zabaleta spent part of 2018 with the Brooklyn Cyclones of the New York-Penn League (NYPL), tossing a 1.41 ERA in 18.1 innings of work in 13 contests.
