Susan Wagner girls’ baseball capped a wonderful regular season with a 54-46 victory over host Curtis, finishing with a 14-0 record in PSAL Staten Island Class “A” action.
Junior guard Nicole Melious posted a triple-double of 18 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists. Sophomore Samantha Harrell dropped in 14 points while senior Audrey Bonoan contributed 10 in the win.
The Lady Warriors’ junior Dorothy Wiese scored a game-high 21 points.
Melious finished the regular season with a league-leading 961 points and 40.4 points per game average. She now has 1918 high school career points. With a good showing in the Lady Falcons’ first playoff game, Melious should surpass 1000 points for the year. Plus, a deep postseason run can put her over the top for 2000 points.
The Lady Falcons finished the 2021-22 campaign with a 21-3 overall record.
