St. Joseph Hill Academy girls’ basketball used a balanced offensive attack–led by junior forward Elizabeth Bennett, who dropped in15 points–to defeat Notre Dame, 62-45, last night at College of Staten Island (CSI).
The Koalas, who won their fourth straight contest, improved to 13-3 overall and 7-1 in the Catholic High School Athletic Assocation (CHSAA).
Junior point guard Michele Chahwan followed with 11 points while sophomore guard Juliana Rodriguez had 10 and 5-foot-11 freshman forward Molly Keane, who came off the bench and did a solid job, a source noted, scored eight.
Junior guard Madison Crocco and 6-foot-1 sophomore Tara Murphy grabbed nine rebounds each, with Crocco scoring seven points in the victory.
The Koloas are soon tasked with a tough test: three games in three days over the weekend.
First, on Friday at 5:00 p.m., they square off against St Jean Baptiste, in Brooklyn at The Post. Then, on Saturday at 1:45 p.m., St. Joesph travels to Kennedy Catholic, in Westchester. After that, back to Brooklyn on Sunday to take on Xaverian at 1:00 p.m.
