Lady Falcons’ Hoops Stay Perfect with a 13-0 League Record


Wagner Girls’ basketball kept the collective train rolling, as it continued to rack up impressive offense numbers in its 83-15 PSAL Staten Island Class “A” League victory over Port Richmond Thursday night in their next to last regular season divisional home tilt.

5-foot-9 junior guard Nicole Melious, who is committed to Georgia Tech, drained 36 points in the first half, and senior Audrey Bonoan scored 14 and dished out 12 assists in the Lady Falcons’ win. Melious added 10 rebounds and five helpers in the win.

Currently, Melious has a total of 886 point for the year, and 1843 for her high school career.

Sophomore Samantha Giordano scored a team-best seven points for the Lady Raiders.

Wagner improved to 19-3 overall and 13-0 in PSAL Staten Island league action, while the Lady Red Raiders dropped to 1-12 on the season.

The Lady Falcons host Longwood Prep Academy Saturday at 1:30 p.m., in a non-league game.
