Poor Shooting Leads St. Joseph Hill Hoops to 53-46 loss at Molloy’s Hands

It was not the best shooting night for St. Joseph Hill girls’ basketball, as it played catch up all night long in its 53-46 defeat to host Teir 1 Molloy Monday night in a non-league game.

The Koalas, a Tier 2 team, trailed the Stanners, 22-16, at halftime, as it failed to figure out their defensive zone in the first half, Assistant Coach Matt Garin noted.

St. Joseph (9-3) sliced the deficit to two in the fourth quarter but could not overtake Molloy in the end.

5-foot-9 senior shooting guard Amoni Byrd scored a game-high 24 points for the Stanners. Sophomore guard Juliana Rodriguez led the Koalas with 18 points on six three-pointers.

St. Joseph Hill returns to action against host Moore Catholic tomorrow at 7:00 p.m.
