August Martin two-way football star Isaiah Allen had a choice of colleges to pick to study and play the game at the next level, including Division I LIU and Wagner, and Division II Assumption and Pace. Plus, he had interest from other schools, according to Head Coach Kyle Allen, his dad.
In end, however, yesterday Allen announced that he will be attending Pace University in Pleasantville, N.Y. on a football scholarship.
Allen posted spectacular, eye-popping stats this past season. leading the Falcons to an 8-1 record, including a 20-8 playoff win over Fredrick Douglas Academy in the first round of the PSAL Cup Conference postseason. He made 55 catches for 1002 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also had 239 yards and a score on 28 carries.
On special teams, Allen amassed 204 yards and scored a TD on six kickoffs returns. He also picked up 102 yards on six punt returns.
Defensively, the 5-foot-11, 160-pounder intercepted six passes — three of which were pick-sixes — for 196 yards and three touchdowns. Additionally, Allen made 37 tackles (six for a loss), had three sacks, and forced three fumbles.
And he was 3-4 in passing with 66 yards and a two-point conversion.
The Setters posted a 2-8 mark and went 2-6 in Northeast 10 Conference action in the 2021-22 campaign.
