Susan Wagner’s game versus host New Dorp on Friday night was a tight affair. But junior guard Nicole Melious took matters into her own hands, as she poured in 17 points in the fourth quarter to help the Lady Falcons (16-3, 11-0) edge New Dorp, 68-65.
Melious totaled a game-best 33 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in the victory. Senior Shanell Smith followed with 19 points.
Jordana Schrecker, one of the top freshmen in the PSAL, dropped in 19 points and secured 10 boards for the Central Cougars (8-2).
Wagner travels to Queens on Thursday to face Francis Lewis at 5:00 p.m. in non-league action.
