A day after dropping its basketball game to Brooklyn High School for Law and Tech, Wagner Girls’ Basketball (8-2, 5-0) bounced back with a 79-51 PSAL non-league victory over Medgar Evers (6-1) Wednesday at the Post in Brooklyn.
Junior Nicole Melious led the Falcon charge with 36 points, eight assists, and four rebounds. Sophomore Samantha Harrell followed with 20 points while senior Shanelle Smith scored 15 and grabbed five boards.
One of the top players in New York State, Melious is enjoying a fantastic season, with a total 408 points in 10 contests, an average of 40.8 points per game. The 5-foot-8 guard now has 1354 career high school points.
