With Christmas and Hanukkah in the rear-view mirror, New Jersey girls’ high school hoops wasted no time in getting back to action on Sunday.
Here are the top performers from Sunday’s high-octane play.
Senior Gina Gaccione, a Saint Anselm signee, scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds in Immaculate Heart Academy’s 68-16 victory over St. Elizabeth at the Mount Holiday Hoops Festival in Caldwell.
Senior Alexa Murphy paced Mount St. Dominic with 22 points, and added four rebounds and five assists while Juliet Howell, another senior, contributed 19 points, six rebounds, and four assists in a 64-56 win at the Mount Holiday Hoops Festival in Caldwell.
Senior Faith Pappas, a Fordham commit, drained a game-best-tying 22 points for Pope John XXIII.
Amyah Bray dropped in 19 points and eight boards as Manchester Township knocked off Toms River South, 65-23, in the consolation round of the WOBM Classic in Toms River.
Promising sophomore Devyn Quigley was right behind Bray with 18 points, four rebounds, five assists and seven steals while senior Myah Hourigan posted 17 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals in the triumph.
Junior Paterno Amanda led the Middletown South charge with 18 points en route to a 50-37 victory over Toms River East in the consolation round of the WOBM Classic at Barnabas Health Arena in Toms River.
Senior Isabella Orland contributed 12 points while sophomore Cassidy Brown added 11 for Middletown South.
Senior Kelly Goodall scored a team-high 13 points for Toms River East.
