The New Jersey girl’s 2021-22 high school hoops season is finally upon us, as a number of private schools took to the hardwood recently. Here are seven players who made an impact on the stat sheet, helping to lead their respective squads into the winner’s circle.
Hun School — 65, St. James (Md.) — 15
Junior Sasha Moise drained a game-high 21 points and collected seven rebounds in the Hun School’s 65-15 victory over St. James (Md.) Friday at the Peddie Girls Tip-Off Tournament at Peddie High School, in Hightstown.
Moise has already dropped in 29 points after two contests this year.
Blair Academy — 67, Putnam Science (CT.) — 57
Talented 6-foot-2 junior guard Jaylin Hartman scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while freshman Kennedy Henry contributed 17 points in Blair Academy’s 67-57 win over Putnam Science (CT) Friday, in Blairstown, N.J.
Senior Tara Johnson added 15 points in the Lady Buccaneers’ win.
Veritas Christian Chistian Academy — 56, Abundant Life — 20
Senior Charlotte Milanesi‘s 24 points paced Veritas Christian Academy to a 56-20 lopsided triumph over Abundant Life on Friday at home in Sparta, N.J. Anna Torppey chipped in with nine points in the tilt.
After three games, Milanesi leads the Lady Lions with 54 points, 19 assists, and 23 steals, while senior Mackenzie Meyers is tops on her team with 24 boards.
