After decommitting from St. John’s in September, Our Saviour Lutheran (N.Y.) and New Heights Lightning senior guard Jaquan Sanders yesterday has verbally committed to Seton Hall Men’s Basketball program. per several sources.
The 6-foot-3, 170-pound Sanders previously had offers from UMass, Hofstra, Creighton, Bryant, Illinois, Xavier, and Manhattan. Providence, Auburn, Pittsburgh, and Kansas State was also recruiting him, per the New York Post.
This is a solid boon for the Pirates, as Sanders possesses slick ball-handling skills to go along with a fantastic jumper, as he averaged 19 points last season for OSL. He added seven assists, four rebounds and two steals while shooting 39 percent from beyond the arc and 44 percent from the floor.
