Seeing a need for more grassroot girls basketball, Coach Joe Murphy, formerly of the Brooklyn Saints, agreed to be a part of Lamont Dyson’s AAU KS All Stars, which has been in existence since 2018, as the girls basketball director.
But this girls AAU basketball program is different; it is free.
With the help of generous sponsors–Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving and former New York Knicks player Rod Strickland–KS All-Stars are holding basketball tryouts for girls age 11 and under on Sunday, October 10th at 8:00 A.M. at I.S. 584 (600 St. Ann’s Avenue, in the Bronx).
KS All-Stars presents a great opportunity to start your girl on a hoops path that could end up with them playing the great game at higher levels with each passing year.
Practice is every Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. at P.S. 361 at 1957 Nostrand Avenue in Brooklyn; Sunday morning 8:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. at JHS 162 (600 St. Ann’s Avenue, in the Bronx).
There will be 10 tournaments, on weekends only. Interested parents should contact Coach Murphy at 718 216-0174, or fill out the registration page below. https://form.jotform.com/212306939984164
