Atlantic Cape’s David Coit Stays Hot on Recruiting Trail with NJIT Hoops Offer


What a fantastic weekend for Atlantic Cape Community College’s (NJ) David Coit, who, today. picked up his third Division I college hoops offer from New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), today Head Coach Allen Ragland told BrooklynSportsWorld.com.

Coit picked up two offers on Saturday from North Carolina A&T and Northern Illinois.

Coit, a 5-foot-11 point guard, attended Scotland Campus Sports, in Scotland, Penn., for a season of prep basketball before joining the Buccaneers hoops squad.

“Just another underrated kid,” Atlantic Cape CC Men’s Basketball program Tweeted. “Believed & kept faith in the process. He is deserving of all the blessings as well as the opportunities coming to him. He’s a gym rat that works hard.”

Before Scotland, he attended Princeton Day School in N.J., where dropped in an impressive total of 1775 points in 94 games across four years of high school hoops.

The Highlanders posted a 7-12 overall record and went 6-10 in American East Conference (ACE) action this past season.

As for the Buccaneers, Ragland said he is in the process of building a top junior college basketball program, with student-athletes like Coit soaking up the benefits.

“I have seven D I kids,” he told me. “I’m building a Powerhouse Program.”
