Asheville School (NC) senior forward Leon Nahar has verbally committed to Stony Brook Men’s Basketball program, yesterday he Tweeted.
The Heidenheim An Der Brenz, Germany, native owns a 6-foot-9 frame, which is a huge plus, of course. He may be 195 pounds, but he should be able to put on some weight and strength to compliment his height.
Moreover, he can rebound well and possesses nice ball-handling skills for a big man. Nahar has showed the wiliness to work hard, and is team-first, high-energy player, according to scouting reports. Additionally, his length allows him to be disruptive on defense.
The most important thing about Nahar is his high ceiling, so he will be a work in progress. But he is already pretty smooth and fluid on offense. Therefore, improvement seems to be in the cards for Nahar.
He averaged 15.3 points (107 pts.) per game in seven games last season as a junior.
The Seawolves posted a 9-14 overall record and went 7-9 in the American East Conference (ACE).
