It looks like the New York Mets’ pitching staff will get some reinforcements in due course.
Righty Noah Syndergaard will begin his MLB rehab assignment with the Brooklyn Cyclones, (High-A) tomorrow when they face the Aberdeen IronBirds at home at 7:00 p.m., the team announced today.
Mets manager Luis Rojas said Syndergaard will pitch one inning with the Cyclones on Thursday, according to reports. New York plans to return to team’s bullpen to shorten his rehab time.
Syndergaard endure Tommy John surgery on March 20, 2020, and is still recuperating from the operation. The Mets shut him down in May due to elbow discomfort but he has lately resumed throwing live batting practice.
Thor last pitched in a Major League game in September 2019. He was 10-8 with a 4.28 ERA over 32 starts that year.
