The month of August has been good to Monsignor McClancy’s (Queens, NY) Hannah Finnerty, a rising senior combo guard who has garnered four Division II college hoops offers, including Westchester Univeristy (Penn) and Mercy College (NY) today, the school’s girl’s basketball program Tweeted.
The other two are Queens College and Caldwell University. But expect more from this gifted young lady.
McClancy Hoops said in a Tweet that, “she is mature beyond her age, high academic, super talent. Great shooter with range, attacks rim with authority. Long and athletic.
Finnerty average 16 points, seven rebounds, and four assists along with 2.5 steals with her AAU team, NYC Heat, this season. She also averaged 20 points in six games with the Lady Crusaders during the CHSAA year.
Furthermore, McClancy Head Coach Dewey Hopkins said she has a realistic shot at reaching the 1000-point high school scoring milestone, even with the truncated COVID-19 season.
The Westchester Rams posted a 9-18 overall mark and went 7-15 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) action in the 2019-20 campaign, while Mercy went 1-8 in overall play and 1-7 in the East Coast Conference this past season.
