Hoopers NY proved why it is one of the best AAU programs in the country today, as it captured the 2025 Platinum Bracket Aqua Division of the Orlando Splash 17U tournament with wins over the Wisconsin Blaze and Tennessee Flight, per OhioBasketball.com and Hoopers NY Head Coach Dan Melious.
In the championship game, Nicole Sanfilippo (Ardsley, NY) led the charge with 18 points while Nicole Melious (Wagner, Staten Island) scored 17. Kaetlyn L’Amoreaux (Maine-Endwell High School, NY) added 12 and Saran Moschella (Staten island Academy, NY) chipped in with 10 points, 10 boards, and four assists in the victory versus the Blaze.
Hoopers NY grounded the Flight in semifinal game. Melious dropped in an impressive 30 points, draining seven threes. L’Amoreaux poured in 19, with four threes. Maya Watts (Arlington HS, NY) enjoyed a solid contest with 10 points and 11 boards. Plus, Vivienne Knee ((Lycee Francais de New York) did it all on the court, scoring 10 points, grabbing 16 rebounds, making five steals, and blocking five shots.
Melious drained 29 points and Sanfilippo chipped in with 24 while Vivian Knee added 11 points, 17 rebounds, and five assists in the quarterfinal victory.
Also, Hoopers NY Dunn took home the silver bracket top prize.
Note: Originally Hoopers NY lost a game, but the team had used players that played in three games, which is a violation. Therefore, the team was awarded the win, allowing the girls to continue in the bracket, per head coach Melious.
