The New York Mets have called up J.T. Ginn to the High-A Brooklyn Cyclones from the Low-A St. Lucie Mets and will make his Brooklyn debut on Saturday, per the Brooklyn Cyclones’ Twitter account.
The Mets’ No 2. pitching prospect, according to MLB Pipeline, recorded a 2-1 record with a 2.56 ERA with St. Lucie.
New York selected Ginn in the second round, 52nd overall, of the 2020 MLB First-Year Player Draft. Ginn pitched for the Mississippi State, where the 6-foot-two, 200-pound flamethrower spun an 8-4 record with a 3.13 ERA and 105 strikeouts in 85.1 innings as a freshman for Mississippi State, earning him National Freshman of the Year honors from Perfect Game.Â
