Derek Simpson of Lenape (NJ) has garnered an offer from Rutgers University Men’s Basketball program, yesterday his high school Tweeted.
Additionally, Simpson, a six-foot, 150-pound rising senior from Medford, N.J., owns offers from Albany, Fairfield, Delaware, Northeastern, Bowling Green, Robert Morris, Old Dominion, Saint Joseph (Pa.), and Rider. according to VerbalCommits.com.
Simpson, a dynamic point guard, averaged 20.64 points, grabbed 4.42 rebounds, dished out] 4.85 dimes, and made 2.14 steals per contest in 14 games this past season. He has also drained over 1000 career points (a high school basketball milestone), and is still counting.
The Rutgers Scarlet Knights posted a 16-12 overall record and went 10-10 in Big 10 Conference Hoops action this past season.
