Today, Albany University (NY) has offered two New Jersey high school basketball players: Derek Simpson of Lenape (NJ) and Rasheer Fleming of Camden, per Twitter sources.
Simpson is a six-foot, 150-pound rising senior from Medford, N.J., who also owns offers from Fairfield, Delaware, Northeastern, Bowling Green, Robert Morris, Old Dominion, Saint Joseph (Pa.), and Rider. according to VerbalCommits.com.
Simpson, a dynamic point guard, scored 289 points, grabbed 62 rebounds, dished out 68 dimes, and made 30 steals in 14 games this past season. He has also drained over 1000 points (a high school basketball milestone) and is still counting.
Fleming, a 6-foot-8 rising senior small forward, also holds offers from Siena and Towson.
For his three-year career with the Panthers, Fleming has amassed 636 points, collected 554 boards, 104 blocks, and 73 thefts in 67 contests.
The Albany Great Danes posted a 7-9 record and went 6-6 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play this past season.
