Rising senior guard Sydney Gomes of Nease High School (FL) has earned an offer from Division II Florida Southern College Women’s Basketball program.
Gomes, who formerly played hoops for New Dorp High School on Staten Island in New York City, hit the 1,000-point milestone as a sophomore, marking only the second time a high school player on the Island drained her 1,000th point. Clare Mitchell of McKee/Staten Island Tech became the first during the 2014-15 campaign, per SILive.com.
The Florida Southern College Moccasins posted a 5-3 record this past season. The Moccasins play in the Sunshine State Conference (SSC).
